Client OverviewWith annual sales exceeding $10 billion this Company is the world's leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems. The Company provides precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of commercial, mobile, industrial and aerospace markets.Acquisition OverloadGrowth has come largely through strategic acquisitions. To manage the various business units, the Company runs custom-built ERP software on a mainframe system in 45 divisions across North America. Plans are in place to implement this software in 80 additional divisions over the next 5-8 years. Management determined that their existing user documentation lacked sufficient detail for its users. Therefore, management made it a priority to develop process-based documentation to support their existing and future install base.Getting it DoneCentric Consulting was asked to work with the end-users, and document the business processes that their ERP software could support. The team from Centric leveraged divisional process maps into a best practice process model utilizing the SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) Model. Through this “process view” of the business, Centric helped develop a migration plan to enable all divisions to efficiently transition to the desired IT platform.Powerful ResultsThe IT group leveraged the process based documentation to develop end-to-end training materials, provide a base implementation functionality model, and educate new members of the IT staff. |
