A large automobile manufacturer relies on its engineering division to develop unique production equipment for manufacturing operations.  The equipment supports vehicle assembly operations, which produce thousands of automobiles and motorcycles every year.

More than a Tuneup

The engineering division was saddled with an inflexible financials system, unable to efficiently or effectively support the needs of the business.  Consequently, the financials system was a deterrent, which impeded the ability to manage their business and achieve their goals.  Among the issues were:

• Non-integrated procurement and inventory data, resulting in excess inventory and increased expediting costs
• Financial data spread over several systems, resulting in incomplete and inaccurate financial reporting
• Unsupported legacy systems

The Drive to Succeed

The Company brought in the ERP team from Centric Consulting to implement Oracle 11i leveraging Centric’s deep Oracle skills.  Centric incorporated financial administration best practices with the Oracle software to improve processes streamline cycle times and reduce overall costs.  The project included implementation of the following Oracle modules:

• General Ledger
• Accounts Payable
• Accounts Receivable
• Purchasing
• Projects
• iProcurement
• iSourcing
• Quality (for document management)

Higher Performance

The client has achieved much greater accuracy in project costing, while reaping the benefits of better business processes.  Centric continues to support the Oracle financial system, working to transition the necessary knowledge and capabilities to client personnel.
